KEVIN COSTNER SUING OVER SINGING
Kevin Costner suing promotion companyHollywood star Kevin Costner is suing a music promotion company he claims broke its promise to help him launch a singing career. In a $8.5 million lawsuit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, the "Dances With Wolves" actor alleges Mahee Worldwide Ventures Inc. of breach of contract and fraud.
The 52-year-old, who is the lead singer of the Kevin Costner Band, claims he signed a two-year deal with the firm in January based around his band performing up to five concerts per year. His lawsuit alleges Mahee reneged on the deal. It reads, "Defendants made numerous promises regarding their capabilities to promote Mr. Costner's music and (their) willingness to pay for the right to do so. "Instead of following through on their promises, defendants continued to make false promises and ultimately disappeared ..."
