BRITNEY SPEARS TO HOST OPENING

Britney Spears is to host the opening of a Las Vegas nightclub next month. The 'Toxic' singer will open the latest branch of LAX nightclubs, whose investors include Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie's former fiancé DJ AM.A LAX representative said yesterday: "Britney Spears will host the grand opening."It is not known if the 25-year-old will perform at the launch in Las Vegas' Luxor Hotel on August 31. Meanwhile, it has been revealed Britney - who is working on a new album - is now acting as both her business manager and publicist. The mother-of-two is still signed to Jive records, but has severed ties with manager Larry Rudolf, her mother Lynne, and her publicist. A source told the New York Post newspaper: "She is doing all of her own business now." Britney was spotted at New York restaurant Aspen yesterday "signing contracts" believed to be linked to her appearance at the LAX opening party.
