ASHLEE SIMPSON CONFIRMS MELROSE PLACE

Pop singer Ashlee Simpson is returning to work with a role in the remake of the television show "Melrose Place." The star has been enjoying an long break from her singing and acting careers, after the birth of her son. But Simpson, who previously starred in a recurring role on "7th Heaven" in 2002, will follow up a recent guest appearance on crime drama "CSI: NY" by taking on the part of Violet, a small town girl with a sex-kitten alter ego in the updated version of "Melrose Place." Confirming the rumors, she tells the New York Post, "I'm thrilled to be joining the cast of 'Melrose Place' and look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents."
