MADONNA'S TEAM FOR NEW DAUGHTER

Superstar Madonna

Madonna has reportedly sent a team to Malawi to find her a new daughter. The 'Material Girl' singer - who adopted two-year-old son David Banda from the African country last year - is said to be desperate to find a little girl to bring home. Madonna - who also has an 11-year-old daughter Lourdes and a seven-year-old son Rocco - reportedly told staff: "Don't rest until you've found me my princess!" She has sent her aides to search the Malawi region of Salima for an orphan and has told them to draw up a shortlist of nine children whose families won't block the adoption. The pop superstar had planned to adopt a 20-month-old girl, Mercy, but was said to be devastated when her family blocked her application. Mercy's uncle, Peter Banet, said: "I'd rather be struggling with Mercy than for her to live with a big white star far away." A source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna is heartbroken about Mercy. She told everyone she was her new daughter and carried her picture around. All she dreams about is a sister for David." In August, it was reported Madonna was set to adopt Mercy and take her home to the UK next April. A source said at the time: "Madonna is ecstatic she has been told she can take Mercy home. She didn't want another complicated adoption. Mercy is a beautiful baby girl. She is so joyful and happy and giggles every time she is picked up. Madonna just loves the way she claps her hands and laughs constantly. She has huge eyes. Madonna calls her a smiling angel."

MADONNA IN MALAWI WITH DAUGHTER

Madonna arrived in Malawi without husband Guy Ritchie yesterday. The singer - who travelled with daughter Lourdes and adopted son David - has been reportedly rowing with Guy about her plans to adopt again. The director was expected to join his wife, but stayed in London to look after their six-year-old son Rocco. Friends of the couple say the 48-year-old singer made a series of "tearful phone calls" begging Guy to be with her when 18-month-old David is reunited with his father today. A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Madonna was furious, telling him to reschedule his work commitments because family comes first. But Guy wouldn't budge. He thought the trip had disaster written all over it. They were both very hurt over the way their adoption was criticised and Guy thought it was too soon to be going back with a film crew." It is alleged the couple have been arguing since David's adoption, and tensions increased when Madonna spoke to Guy about adopting again. The source added: "Guy went ballistic. He thinks they must spend more time going through the process. Madonna thinks his attitude is unsupportive." Madonna - wearing sunglasses, a wide Panama hat and combat trousers - and 10-year-old Lourdes visited a farm project in one of the country's poorest areas yesterday. They spent two hours chatting to hundreds of villagers at Millennium Garden - which teaches people how to grow their own food. The pair were shown around the irrigation system and Lourdes challenged local children to a water fight. Madonna and Lourdes were presented with flowers and bracelets, before driving back to Kimbala Lodge. Madonna is expected to stay in Malawi for a week and will visit several orphanages, sparking reports she is to adopt again. Her spokeswoman has denied the claims, insisting she is helping to establish a new health care centre.

MADONNA HEADS BACK TO AFRICA

Madonna wants to help the world !

Madonna reportedly flew back to Africa with her adopted son David to meet with the boy's biological father Wednesday night, according to news reports.
The pop star hopes to spend a few days with Yohane Banda in Malawi and open discussions concerning her plans to adopt another child, according to Life & Style magazine. An insider tells the magazine, "She wants David to have a relationship with his biological father."She's going under the guise of a vacation, but she's not on vacation -- she's on a mission."Madonna, who also runs a foundation for abandoned children in Malawi, was harshly criticized when she adopted Banda last October -- critics accused her of using her wealth and fame to fast-track the adoption process. The source tells Life & Style that Madonna hopes her trip back to Malawi will help show her critics that the adoption was "an unselfish act of love." The insider adds, "She plans on having David's father be part of the extended family. She wants to show that her adoption was not what it was portrayed as in the media."Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, has confirmed the trip, stating, "She's going to continue her work with the Raising Malawi Orphan Care Initiative, including the building of a children's care center."
