Kylie Minogue is set to adopt an aborigine baby. The '2 Hearts' singer - whose chances of conceiving naturally were affected by the chemotherapy treatment she received for breast cancer in 2005 - is considering giving a home to an underprivileged child from her native Australia. A source said: "She would make a great mother. She is so caring and considerate and has a playful sense of humour as well. "Having cancer really got her thinking about her chances of having a child. She feels now might be the time to go ahead with adoption. She has a lot of love to give." Kylie, who has been single since splitting from French actor Olivier Martinez in February, has been seeking advice about her adoption plans from her sister Dannii and her parents. The 39-year-old singer recently admitted being diagnosed with breast cancer made her realize how much she wants to become a mother. She said: "I love children. Always have and always will. But it's only since my cancer that I have given serious thought to having them". Earlier this year, Kylie dismissed reports she was having an operation to improve her chances of conceiving naturally. She said: "Contrary to some reports, I am not having all sorts of weird treatments to try and get pregnant. Instead, we will just have to wait and see what doctors say."Labels: BABY, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KYLIE MINOGUE
Angelina Jolie wants to adopt another child from Ethiopia. The actress and her long-term partner Brad Pitt - whose relationship is rumoured to be going through a rocky patch - are reportedly planning to travel to the African country to find a fourth disadvantaged child they can give a home to. The couple - who are already adoptive parents to six-year-old Cambodian boy Maddox, Vietnamese son Pax Thien, three, and two-year-old Zahara, who was born in Ethiopia - believe another baby will strengthen their relationship and help Zahara feel more secure within the family. A source close to the couple - who also have a 14-month-old biological daughter, Shiloh - told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Brad and Angelina have made no secret of the fact they are keen to extend their rainbow family. "Angelina, in particular, feels very strongly that while Shiloh will grow up seeing the family resemblances between herself and her natural parents, and Maddox and Pax will have a connection through their birthplaces, Zahara has no such close-knit bond. Brad and Angelina hope that by finding a brother or sister for her, it will help Zahara feel more comfortable and happy in her own skin, and also bring them closer together." The couple are said to be planning to visit Ethiopia's Wide Horizons agency, the same place that introduced them to Zahara, in November. Angelina, 32, recently admitted she and Brad, 43, were planning on adopting again. She said: "I want to find an equilibrium between family and work. Brad and I want to continue to adopt, but keeping a big family is expensive."Labels: ANGELINA JOLIE, BABY, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM

Liev Schreiber has given fiancée Naomi Watts a diamond locket to keep a picture of their new son in. Naomi gave birth to Alexander Pete Schreiber, who weighed a healthy 8lbs 4oz, at a Los Angeles hospital last Thursday. On the same day, Liev presented the 'King Kong' star with a diamond-and-platinum heart locket he had specially designed by jeweller Neil Lane so she can carry a photo of their new arrival everywhere she goes. A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: "It was a very special gift for her. Liev secretly helped the jeweller Neil to design it." Alexander was born almost two weeks prematurely and friends believe Naomi may have gone into labour early because she was determined to have a natural birth. One pal said: "Naomi's due date was early August, but since she insisted on delivering naturally she knew there was a chance she would have the baby before the due date. That's what wound up happening."Labels: BABY, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, LIEV SCHREIBER, NAOMI WATTS
Nicole Richie has confirmed she is pregnant. 'The Simple Life' star, who was sentenced to four days in jail after pleading guilty to DUI (driving under the influence) on Friday, is expecting her first child with Good Charlotte's frontman Joel Madden. When asked if she was pregnant, Nicole - who first sparked pregnancy rumours after she was photographed outside a reproductive clinic in April - told ABC News: "I'm almost four months." Nicole believes her jail sentence was fair and she is looking forward to "starting fresh" after serving her time. She said: "I have a responsibility and it's something I did wrong. If I could personally apologise to every single person who has lost a loved one from drunk driving, I would. Unfortunately, I can't, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult. I will be happy once I have done my jail time. I can start fresh." The star was arrested on December 11, 2006 for driving on the wrong side of the road on a California highway. She told the arresting officers she had smoked marijuana and taken the strong painkiller Vicodin. Nicole insists she hasn't used drugs since December and says she was on painkillers at the time because she had "really bad menstrual cramps". The 25-year-old realised she needed to be more responsible behind the wheel after watching a distressing news piece on TV. Nicole revealed: "I was watching CNN about a month ago, and they happened to be talking about young people driving under the influence. They were flashing little kids on the screen who were killed by drunk drivers, and it broke my heart. It was a big wake-up call."Labels: BABY, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, NICOLE RICHIE
Naomi Watts and fiancé Liev Schreiber have become parents for the first time. The actress gave birth to a healthy baby boy at a Los Angeles hospital yesterday. Mother and baby, who weighed 8lbs 4oz, are both said to be doing well. The couple have named the new arrival Alexander Pete Schreiber. The tot was almost two weeks early and friends say Naomi was determined to have a natural labour. One pal said: "Naomi was planning on giving birth next week - her due date was early August - but since she insisted on delivering naturally, she knew there was a chance she would have the baby before the due date. That's what wound up happening." Naomi and Liev threw an intimate baby shower on Saturday with an afternoon gathering at their Los Angeles home. Despite baby showers usually being female-only events, Liev was among the 15 guests, who also included actresses Kate Hudson and Carla Gugino. Liev, 39, recently revealed that Naomi was having an "amazing" pregnancy. He said: "She's great. She hasn't had any strange cravings. In fact, I've never seen anyone handle a pregnancy so well. She's amazing." The couple, who starred in 'The Painted Veil' together, announced the pregnancy in February this year.Labels: BABY, GOSSIP, GOSSIP JAMES EDSTROM, LIEV SCHREIBER, NAOMI WATTS
Calista Flockhart says motherhood has brought her "real happiness". The 'Brothers and Sisters' star has revealed she enjoyed taking a break from Hollywood to be with her son Liam, who she adopted in 2001. Calista told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I took the last five years to step away from working. Motherhood changed every fibre of my being and I think I can honestly say it brought me as close as I've ever come to being really happy." The 42-year-old actress - who has been dating actor Harrison Ford for five years - also explained she is no longer the "workaholic" she was in her 'Ally McBeal' days. Calista said: "I used to be a workaholic and very ambitious. I don't know why, but it's all melted away. I have almost zero ambition. I want to do my work and then I just want to go home and be with my family. "I think I'm much more tolerant, and I'm probably not so focused on myself at all. Things that I used to think were important are just simply not important any more. I think in that way I've really changed."Labels: BABY, CALISTA FLOCKHART, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, MOTHER
