CLUB THREATENS LAWSUIT OVER BEYONCE

Pop star Beyonce is being threatened with a $1 million lawsuit after pulling out of a New York City nightclub performance. Beyonce was going to perform at M2 on Saturday night, after the establishment's owner Joey Morrissey agreed to pay her $200,000 for the concert. Beyonce suddenly axed the appearance on Wednesday, with her press representatives claiming she was too busy preparing for her North American tour. Beyonce's PR instead offered an hour-long personal appearance from the star at the club, but Morrissey claims he has already spent $100,000 preparing for the singer's show. He tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they would'nt have time to do the kickoff party. "We sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show, and spent $100,000 renting a soundboard and other equipment, as per their stipulations. What good does her showing up for an hour do me? They've been totally unwilling to agree to another show." Morrissey is now threatening to file a lawsuit against Beyonce over the cancellation, claiming the club has suffered a loss of it's reputation" in addition to his lost cash. He also adds, "We had an overwhelming response from our clubgoers, who were lining up to buy tickets and tables."

Singing star Beyonce has yet to spend any of her huge million dollar fortune, insisting she hasn't bought any luxury items with her cash.Beyonce was recently named the richest star under 30 years old, with an estimated $80 million in her bank account. But Beyonce, whose wedding ring is worth $5 million bucks, is adamant that she has invested all of her money wisely, and won't be spending any of her earnings on fast cars or expensive jewelry. She says, "Honestly, I'm very frugal. I haven't bought a car since I was 16 or any diamonds since I was 17. I have a lot of property. I've invested my money and I don't have to make any more, thank God, because I'm set."I'm now able really to be free and just do things that make me happy. It's an effort to stay grounded."

Singing star Beyonce has finally confirmed she is a married woman after only seven months that she and rap mogul JAY-Z exchanged vows in a top secret New York City ceremony. Appearing on Oprah yesterday, Beyonce admitted it was difficult not to talk about her nuptials, because it was such an exciting day. She said, "It’s difficult because I had to really learn how to have boundaries… and balance. It’s something that I never have really talked about… It was difficult and it still is because I’m so excited about it, but it’s important that I keep things that are pure and real in perspective, and I keep it separate from my performance life."It (wedding) was very private… Outside it was paparazzi madness and inside it was really beautiful." And she loves being someone’s wife. She also added, "It feels great… The most important thing is to make sure you have your own life before you’re someone else’s wife."

Knowles revealed she shunned a big, white wedding because she's not a "traditional woman," adding: "It's been my day so many days already."And the singer claims she never wanted an engagement ring, saying "People put too much emphasis on that. Pop singing star Beyonce Knowles stunned everyone at Friday night's Fashion Rocks event in New York City with her own fashionable diamond rock. Beyonce showed off the $5 million wedding ring her husband Jay-Z bought her after she became his wife last April. It marked the first time the singer appeared in public with the Lorraine Schwartz gem. According to the jeweler, the huge ring features an 18-carat flawless diamond.Beyonce and Jay-Z have still to publicly confirm they are husband and wife after their highly private nuptials, but the singer's sister, Solange, recently referred to the rapper as her brother-in-law in a television interview. The ring wasn't the only thing that sparkled about Beyonce at the Radio City Music Hall event -- she performed a duet with Justin Timberlake and a tribute to blues singer Etta James, who she'll play in the upcoming movie, "Cadillac Records."She also teamed up with Mariah Carey, Mary J. In the evening, the pair - who spent most of Tuesday morning in their hotel suite - enjoyed a limo drive round the romantic capital of the world, before heading to L'Avenue for an intimate dinner. Jay-Z and Beyoncé, 26, then caught the late show at the famous cabaret club le Crazy Horse Paris. The couple sipped champagne as they watched a troupe of semi-naked women perform the saloon's sensual Forever Crazy Revue in the velvet and mirror adorned venue. Jay-Z's celebrations are more low-key than last year when Beyoncé reportedly splashed out $3 million for a three-day birthday extravaganza in the Caribbean. The singer charted two planes to fly 20 of the rapper's closest friends to the paradise island of St. Martin. The exclusive group - which is said to have included Beyoncé's former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland - relaxed on a private yacht and were treated to a constant supply of champagne and luxury foods.

BEYONCE WORKING ON DANCE ALBUM

Beyoncé Knowles is turning her back on r'n'b to release a dance album. The 26-year-old singer has asked dance act The Freemasons to work on a new song for her next LP after her last offering 'B-Day' failed to sell as well as hoped. James Wiltshire, one half of the duo, said: "The album is going to be huge. "It will rival anything the likes of Britney and Rihanna have done recently. Beyoncé and her team can see where mistakes were made on her last album. "That was very American, very r'n'b and stripped back. This time they want to go for a more international sound and hit as many audiences as possible. "Normally big stars don't take any notice of smaller acts like ours, so her decision to work with us shows just where she is going with this album." Beyoncé's team approached James and his musical partner Russell Small after they heard the pair's official remixes of the star's hit songs 'Déjà Vu' and 'Beautiful Liar'. James told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Her management have been in almost daily contact with us ever since. "It is exciting getting to work on a new tune for her, as we get to be really creative." James, 32, revealed the pair even pushed back other top projects to work with the Bootylicious beauty. He said: "We were asked to do the remix of Britney's 'Gimme More' and to work on Donna Summer's new album. "But we put them both on hold to work with Beyoncé."

The 'Baby Boy' singer - who recently cancelled her Malaysia concerts after refusing to conform to the country's conservative dress code - donned a series of skimpy costumes, including a risqué leotard with strategically placed Swarovski crystals, for her Ethiopia show on Saturday. Beyoncé told the 5,000 screaming fans: "I want to thank you. You have been one of the best audiences of my lifetime." Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa welcomed Beyoncé's two hour performance as part of the country's year-long celebration of its 2000th year, according to the Coptic calendar. Beyoncé's opening act, multi-platinum-selling rapper Ludacris, failed to impress the crowd. Local music promoter Michael Melake explained: "Rap music doesn't suit Ethiopia. "Ethiopians need a melody. Rap music is all about the message and we don't identify with that. It's all about the black American experience, and we don't relate to that." The Black Eyed Peas, who performed in Addis Ababa in September, also received a lukewarm reception.

Meanwhile, the R'n'B star her cancelled a November Malaysian concert because she refused to tone down her own raunchy stage show. The 'Crazy In Love' singer is said to have told promoters she was not prepared to cover-up for her Kuala Lumpur concert on November 1 to appease Muslim critics.

BEYONCE TO TONE DOWN CONCERT

Beyoncé Knowles has been told to tone down her forthcoming Malaysian concert. The 'Crazy In Love' singer was asked by promoters to keep her show, which is due to take place in Kuala Lumpur in November, "family friendly" to appease Muslim critics. Razlan Ahmad Razali, chairman of Pineapple Concerts, said: "We've informed Beyoncé's management about this issue of clothes, but it takes some of the fun out of it. "Beyoncé won't be able to do the kind of show here that she does elsewhere. She's a fashion icon, and we know that she often wears miniskirts and clothes that expose her navel during her performances. It's a pity to restrict her, because her costumes are all tasteful and glamorous". This is not the first time a US performer has been asked to tone down for a Malaysian show. Last month, Gwen Stefani, who performed in front of 7,000 fans in Kuala Lumpur, chose to don a series of different flesh-covering outfits. Her modest clothing fell in line with government rules, which stipulate female artists must be covered from their shoulders to their knees.

At a Las Vegas press conference to announce plans to open his third 40/40 Club at the Palazzo hotel, the 37-year-old rapper - who has been dating the 26-year-old singer for over four years - confirmed they will tie the knot in the very near future. Asked if they had set a date for the wedding, Jay-Z said: "One day soon - let's leave it at that." The hip-hop mogul went on to hint he may even choose the Palazzo as the wedding venue, if the hotel's President Rob Goldstein buys Beyoncé an expensive ring. The star recently claimed dancing in heels is not a problem, but admitted she does find it difficult to dance and sing at the same time. She said: "The easiest part is dancing in the heels. We didn't have a lot of time to come up with the choreography - most of it was done on the spot. I was just watching her and learning from her. It was so much fun, the best energy. She was really easy to work with, so sweet and humble." The 25-year-old also revealed that although her friends didn't like her drastic weight loss for her 'Dreamgirls' role, she misses wearing being so svelte because she could wear whatever she wanted. She said: "When I did 'Dreamgirls' I did lose my curves. I remember coming home and seeing my friends and they were like, 'Who are you? Where are you?' Recent reports suggest the rapper conceived a child with Shenelle Scott, 26, in 2001 -- three years after meeting on the set of his video "Big Pimpin'." Rumors claimed Jay-Z, real name Shawn Cater, paid Scott $1 million on condition his name was not on the baby's birth certificate. The child was born on January 30, 2002, in Los Angeles. However, the star's spokesperson tells AllHipHop.com, "There is no truth to these ridiculous rumors. "People should be ashamed of using this kind of story and exploiting a child for publicity and ratings." Jay-Z has been dating superstar Beyonce Knowles since 2002.
