The singing star has been dating American heiress Shevell since last year and is now said to have made moves to purchase a property closer to her Upper East Side residence. McCartney once owned a place in midtown Manhattan with ex-wife Heather Mills, who settled into her own apartment in the city's star-studded downtown West Village earlier this year. A source tells the New York Post, "He's been looking at eight-figure apartments. I think he just wants to rid himself of the Heather factor."

X-FILES DAVID DUCHOVNY'S SEX COVER UP

X-Files star David Duchovny's sexual indiscretion has once again come into question after new reports suggest his alleged Internet porn habit was used as a cover up for cheating on his wife. The 48-year-old played down media rumors he was unfaithful when he reportedly came clean over his Internet porn habit. Duchovny checked into rehab for his alleged sex addiction last week. New reports from The National Enquirer allege the actor went into rehab because his wife, actress Tea Leoni, "finally caught him (cheating)," prompting her to offer him an ultimatum to seek treatment or face a divorce. A source tells the tabloid: "At first, Duchovny tried to lie his way out of trouble, but eventually was overwhelmed with guilt and confessed." And editors at Us Weekly have further fueled the allegations, adding reports that the actor "has a history of indiscretions," including one alleged tryst with an extra on his hit TV show "Californication." Duchovny is currently checked into a 35-day course at the Meadows rehab center in Wickenburg, Ariz., where Leoni has visited him. She will miss the premiere of her forthcoming film "Ghost Town" at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada this week to be by the actor's side. Duchovny's attorney, Larry Stein, has declined to address the reports, adding: "This is a private matter."

FRAN DRESCHER TO HOST GAY PARTY

Television star Fran Drescher is spear heading the charge to end opposition to same-sex marriages in California by co-hosting a cocktail party at her ex-husband’s Los Angeles California home. The actress and her ex, Peter Marc Jacobson, are teaming up to host a benefit for Equality California - the group fighting to defeat an upcoming ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage in California. Gay couples, like Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, have been taking advantage of new marriage laws that permit same-sex nuptials by exchanging vows this summer, but the new regulations could be overturned in November if anti-gay marriage activists get their way. Drescher tells Eonline.com, "I’m a gay icon… (and) I’m a political activist who believes in preserving the American dream which is tolerance of diversity and the separation of church and state. It’s simply un-American not to be tolerant of different lifestyles. If you wanna live in a single-minded, religious-based country you’re in the wrong place." Guests at tonights fundraiser have paid at least $100 each to hang out with Drescher and her ex. The actress insists she and Jacobson are the best of friends. She adds, "We have very similar beliefs in terms of ideology as well as theology."

Entourage star Adrien Grenier is laughing off media reports that actress Isabel Lucas dumped him for Shia LaBeouf, insisting the couple were never together. Isabel, who was a passenger in LaBeouf's truck when he crashed in Hollywood California at the end of July, reportedly dropped Adrien in August for her "Transformers" co-star after the traffic accident. But Grenier says LaBeouf didn't steal his former flame. Grenier is been too busy having fun being single in Hollywood to have a serious relationship. He tells Page Six Magazine, "I thought it was funny that suddenly there was a big scandal, because since when were we dating? First of all, we don't give each other those labels -- it's more subtle than that. "She and I have a very open communication. We're friends with common interests. Secondly, love and relationships are complicated. No one could ever get it right in a four-line sentence. I'm not married. We're young in Hollywood and having fun."

CITATION ISSUED IN SHIA LABEOUF CRASH

A citation has been issued to the owner of a car that crashed into a pickup truck driven by sexy Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf. Los Angeles California County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore today said 21-year-old Simon Herbert of Los Angeles was given a citation after the car failed to stop at a red light. Whitmore says deputies are still trying to determine if Herbert was driving his car at the time of the July 27 accident. The 22-year-old LaBeouf's hand was crushed when his truck flipped in the West Hollywood collision. The actor, who has been filming the "Transformers" sequel, spent several days in a hospital.

Music King Sean Combs has re-hired a choreographer who accused him of threatening her with a chair before firing her. Laurie Ann Gibson appeared in the first season of Diddy’s Making the Band television reality show, during which she and the rapper had a major disagreement, and she was fired. She filed a police complaint against Combs, alleging he lifted a chair and threatened her with it. But now all seems to be good between the couple, Gibson will work with the rapper again on the next season of the show. She tells Eonline.com, "We had this relationship before MTV, so there was a place of, ‘Can we put this behind us? I believe in who you are. Do you still believe in who I am? We have something bigger than the show.’ "Businesswise, it was definitely in my best interest to take the challenge to move forward and put it behind me." The pairs reunion will air during the season premiere of the new Making The Band when it airs on MTV August 19th. Gibson adds, "I said, `No chairs and no entourage!’ There were no chairs, except the ones we were sitting on, and there was no entourage."

A production package sent out to the press features 37 on-set promotional stills, featuring stars like Stiller, Nick Nolte, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black - but Cruise, who attended the film’s Los Angeles premiere last night with his so-called wife Katie Holmes, is nowhere to be seen. An insider says, "It’s amazing that this has been kept under wraps for so long considering you’re up against the electronic media, but it looks as if the film bosses have won a major battle in keeping Cruise on camera a top secret this time."

Fire department lieutenant Panettiere was arrested on a felony count of domestic violence in the early hours of Monday morning. Images of him flash up on screen alongside Hilton and Britney Spears, while a narrator says: "He's the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?"And Hilton has blasted the McCain camp for using her image without asking for permission. A spokesperson for the star says, "Miss Hilton was not asked, nor did she give permission for the use of her likeness in the ad and has no further comment."Hilton's parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, contributed a reported $4,600 to the McCain campaign just this year. Meanwhile, YouTube has removed the ad from their site.
