Paris Hilton has called her jail sentence a new beginning. The hotel heiress - who spent 23 days in a California county jail for driving with a suspended licence - wants to turn her back on her wild partying ways. Paris told US chat show host Larry King: "They say when you reach a crossroad or a turning point in life, it really doesn't matter how we got there, but it's what we do next after we got there. "Usually you arrive there by adversity, and it is then, and only then, that we find out who we truly are and what we're truly made of. It's a process, a gift and a journey, and if we can travel it alone, although the road may be rough at the beginning, you find an ability to walk it. A way to start fresh again. "It's neither a downfall nor a failure, but a new beginning. And I felt like this is a new beginning for me, to see jail - and I just used it as a journey to figure out myself and who I am and what I want to do. There's just so much more to me than what people think." The 26-year-old blond was confined to her cell for 23 hours a day, only leaving to shower and call her family, but she spoke to other inmates through air vents. The socialite described prison food as awful and revealed the other inmates called it "mystery slop". She said: "Lunch is basically a bologna sandwich - they call it mystery meat. It's really scary. And two pieces of bread and some mayonnaise, with orange juice. There was a little hole they would put it through. Dinner was usually the same. It was hot at least. They call it jail slop, so it wasn't that tasty."

Slut Paris Hilton got away with her crime !

Socialite Paris Hilton did receive "preferential treatment" by being released from jail early, according to a senior law enforcement official. Steve Remige, the president of the Association Of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS), claims the hotel heiress has only been allowed to serve the rest of her sentence under house arrest because of her celebrity. He tells website, "There appears to have been preferential treatment. This is not the first time that this has happened. Remember Mel Gibson."On any given day, a thousand female inmates are in custody. Why is one case, out of the blue, treated any different than them?" Hilton was serving a 23 day sentence in Los Angeles’ Century Regional Detention Center for violating her parole following a 2006 drink-driving arrest. She was sent home earlier today after just three days behind bars. Hilton’s sentence has been returned to the 45 days initially agreed in court. This will be served at her home - Hilton has been fitted with an ankle bracelet - and under the supervision of the Los Angeles Probation Office. The time she has spent counts as five days, so she has 40 days remaining.

Paris Hilton's prison jumpsuit is on sale on eBay.The hotel heiress only entered jail on Sunday night but a government-issue orange jumpsuit and matching pair of shorts she allegedly tried on, are now up for grabs on the internet auction site. The seller's notes read: "Paris has been in jail for less than 1 day. "She has b****ed about everything!" "She demanded a female medium and they didn't fit. These are the original pair of Paris Hilton orange jail shorts and jumpsuit! Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!!!" A representative for Paris dismissed the sale as "ridiculous". Meanwhile, the 26-year-old hotel heiress is currently in solitary confinement for her own protection. But if 'The Simple Life' star is allowed to mix with her fellow inmates, they may have trouble understanding her. An old friend of Paris' told US DJ Howard Stern yesterday that Paris has invented her own language which she sometimes uses to insult people.

It was wrong. I had heard about appeals and things and I was confused. I am sorry, I really am." He was arrested at Panama City airport two weeks ago as he was on his way to turn himself into authorities on the contempt charge.Francis is also due to appear in court in Nevada on May 22, after a federal grand jury earlier this month returned an indictment charging him with deducting more than $20 million in false business expenses on his companies' 2002 and 2003 corporate income tax returns.According to the indictment, Francis used offshore bank accounts and entities purportedly owned by others to conceal income he earned during 2002 and 2003.
