Katie enjoys Summer Streets as she leaves her mid-town apartment and arrives at the Minetta Lane Theater where she is rehearsing for Arthur Miller's play 'All My Sons'. Summer Streets is New York City's experiment with shutting down a path from the Brooklyn Bridge to Park Avenue on the Upper East Side, free of cars, for pedestrians and bicyclists on Saturdays. Hopefully Tom Cruise and Suri will get out later and enjoy the bright summer day themselves!

Movie fans will have to wait to see closet case Tom Cruise's cameo in new war comedy Tropic Thunder, because movie bosses are refusing to leak photos to the media. The actor is virtually unrecognizable as a chubby, balding movie executive in the new Ben Stiller film, and Paramount marketing bosses are going to make sure the public will see the first shots of Cruise at the cinema when the movie opens on Wednesday. A production package sent out to the press features 37 on-set promotional stills, featuring stars like Stiller, Nick Nolte, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black - but Cruise, who attended the film’s Los Angeles premiere last night with his so-called wife Katie Holmes, is nowhere to be seen. An insider says, "It’s amazing that this has been kept under wraps for so long considering you’re up against the electronic media, but it looks as if the film bosses have won a major battle in keeping Cruise on camera a top secret this time."

KATIE HOLMES MESSAGE TO KIDMAN

Katie Holmes has offered her sincere congratulations to her husband Tom Cruise's ex-wife Nicole Kidman, calling her pregnancy "wonderful". On Monday, Hollywood star Kidman confirmed she is expecting a baby with her country singing star husband Keith Urban. Holmes, who has one-year-old daughter Suri with Cruise, is thrilled the Australian actress is having a child. She tells People.com, "I’m so happy for her. It’s wonderful." Kidman and Cruise have two adopted children from their 11 year marriage, Isabella, 14, and Conor, 12.

Pop star Christina Aguilera and Hollywood star Katie Holmes have signed to star together in a new movie. The duo will work together in the family drama Humboldt Park, which will begin shooting in February, just a few weeks after Aguilera is due to give birth to her first child. A source says, "(Holmes) is trying to prove she can do more than fluffy popcorn movies", and starring alongside Aguilera "shows she’s willing to take risks".

KATIE HOLMES DESIGNS CHRISTMAS CARD

Katie Holmes has designed her family's Christmas card. The former 'Dawson's Creek' star designed the burgundy, cream and brown festive card which will be sent out on behalf of her and husband Tom Cruise, their daughter Suri and Tom's two adopted children Bella and Connor with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. The card bears the message, "Happy holidays and best wishes for a joyous new year. Love Tom, Kate, Bella, Connor and Suri" in a brown sweeping font. The card is cream with a brown and burgundy ribbon trim. This will be 20-month-old Suri's second Christmas, and Katie and Tom - who are both Scientologists - are said to be determined to make it as special as her first. A source close to the family told Us Weekly magazine: "Katie has kept her staff busy doing the shopping. She's already bought so much for Suri, but keeps saying she has even more to buy! "She is determined to make Christmas a classy affair, and even has a different gift-wrap design for her family, friends and business associates."

Katie Holmes is devastated after being turned down for a role in a new musical film, it has been claimed. The former 'Dawson's Creek' star - who last year married Tom Cruise and gave birth to his daughter Suri - was desperate to appear in the movie adaptation of hit Broadway show 'Nine', but director Rob Marshall reportedly decided she wasn't right for the role. A source said: "Katie desperately wanted to be in 'Nine'. It would have taken her back to the singing and dancing she did when she was growing up. "She thought working with Rob would be a career breakthrough. She was heartbroken when she didn't get the part." 'Chicago' director Marshall's new project tells the story of famous film director Guido Contini and the women in his life. Catherine Zeta-Jones - who won an Oscar for her part in 'Chicago' - has been cast as Guido's muse, Sophia Loren will play his mother, while Tom Cruise's ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz is to play his mistress. Tom's ex-wife Nicole Kidman was also tipped to appear in the movie, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Renée Zellweger and Dame Judi Dench. Since Katie, 28, married Tom it has been claimed he has to approve her scripts before she auditions.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes allegedly sleep in separate rooms because the actor snores so loudly, it has been claimed. The couple, who married in Italy last year, have master bedrooms in separate wings so Katie can get her "beauty sleep". A source told America's Star magazine: "It's a situation that works for both of them. Of course they spend time together alone at night like most married couples - after all, they conceived Suri! In fact, they even joke about having separate bedrooms to their friends - Katie says Tom snores, and this way she can get her beauty sleep!" The couple are said to have slept in separate rooms since they started dating in 2005. Katie has decorated her wing in "feminine pastel colours" and filled the space with stuffed animals. The source added: "At first, it was because Katie was Catholic and single, and they were only dating. It was the proper thing to do. Now that they are married, they don't feel the need to alter the arrangement. "When Katie moved into the house, it was made clear that Tom occupied the north wing of the second floor and that she would occupy a cluster of suites on the south wing of the same floor. "Katie wanted to make herself feel at home, and she insisted on remodelling her area, which consisted of a study, parlour and large bedroom suite. Over the course of several months, Katie created a larger space to have as her own. In the end, she designed the room of her dreams, a very feminine room painted in pastel colours, with a small carousel and filled with many stuffed animals. It's a perfect fit, and Katie is fine with it." A representative for Tom and Katie has denied they sleep in separate bedrooms.

Katie Holmes reportedly wants to enroll daughter Suri into "kiddie Catholicism" classes - even though husband Tom Cruise is a devout Scientologist. The actress, who was raised a Catholic, gave up her religion and embraced the bizarre sci-fi cult when she met in Tom in 2005. But Katie has now allegedly been secretly talking to pastors about her child's upbringing, and wants to enrol one-year-old Suri into some classes when she is older to learn about the faith, according to Life and Style magazine. After meeting Tom it was reported the 28-year-old actress had broke off ties with her old friends in Ohio, while her relationship with the actor allegedly caused a rift with her parents. Sources claim Katie - who is currently in Louisiana shooting new movie 'Mad Money' - has got back in touch with her childhood pals to "quietly reclaim parts of her past". She reportedly phoned Meghann Birie, a close school friend who she has not seen in almost two years. A source said: "She wanted to speak to someone not in Camp Cruise. Katie told Meghann she can't believe she abandoned her old life." It has also been claimed that Katie plans to visit her hometown of Toledo with Suri this summer and has invited her parents, Kathy and Martin, to the 'Mad Money' film set. A family friend revealed: "She's trying to make amends with her family."

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "She is always naked and no one's allowed to talk around the baby."Meanwhile, Tom's casting in a new wartime thriller has sparked fears he may use it to promote Scientology.The actor is to star as Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg - who attempted to assassinate Nazi leader Adolf Hitler - but Stauffenberg's grandson has voiced his family's concerns the film could be influenced by the sci-fi cult.Count Caspar Schenk von Stauffenberg said: "I have nothing against Cruise and can even separate his work from his beliefs in Scientology. But I and other family members are worried that the picture will be financed by the sect and be used to get across its propaganda."The as yet untitled war thriller tells the true story of Stauffenberg, a Bavarian aristocrat-turned-colonel, who planted a bomb in an attempt to kill Hitler in 1944. The Fuhrer survived the blast and Stauffenberg was later executed.
