Toxic singer Britney Spears ex-hubby Kevin Federline is mourning the death of his uncle, who reportedly passed away following a very long battle with cancer. Federline went to visit his mother’s brother Steve, who lived in Fresno, California, in the days leading up to his demise, according to Usmagazine.com. A source tells the website, "The whole family is very sad but at least he is out of his pain now." Federline’s loss comes after a series of traumas suffered by the dancer this year. In January his former wife Spears subjected their children Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one - to a three-hour stand-off with police, after the singer refused to relinquish custody of the kids following a scheduled visitation.Labels: GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KEVIN FEDERLINE
Singing star wannabee Kevin Federline hasn't discussed his high profile battle with ex-wife Britney Spears with their children, because he doesn’t know what to say to them. The pair have been battling since their breakup in November 2006, and their custody battle over two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James still wages. Visitation rights were taken away from Spears this month following a stand-off with police and paramedics after the singer refused to hand over her youngest son to Federline. Before that, Spears lost all custody of her sons after failing to adhere to court-ordered medical tests. She now has telephone contact with her kids after a ruling by Los Angeles Commissioner Scott Gordon last week, but the former dancer admits he still hasn’t found a way to explain the conflict to his young boys. He tells Interview magazine, "No. I don’t know what to say. I haven’t crafted something yet."Labels: GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KEVIN FEDERLINE
Kevin Federline wants Britney Spears to pay the legal fees in their custody battle. The aspiring rapper - locked in a bitter fight for sons Sean Preston, 23-months and Jayden James, 11-months has launched allegations of child abuse against his ex-wife and wants her to foot the bill for all legal costs involved in his action. Court documents released the other day reveal Federlines lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan believes Spears should pay $50,000 for Federline's litigation expenses as she is "clearly the monied party". Kaplan said in a court declaration on August 26 that while Spears earns an average of $737,868 a month, Federline has "no net income" after various expenses, and his monthly spousal support of $20,000 ends in November. The court documents revealed that in his bid to win primary physical custody of their sons Federlines legal team have subpoenaed several of Spears former and current employees to give evidence against her. Among those already served with subpoenas are the singers "designated sober companion" Dr. Betty Wyman, former nanny Christine Hallet, former assistant Shannon Funk, bodyguard Daimon Shippen and cousin Alli Sims. Spears' former manager, Larry Rudolph who has been avoiding Federlines lawyers in an attempt to stay out of the legal battle was finally served with a subpoena during a visit to a Los Angeles tanning salon the other day. The Toxic singers lawyer attorney Laura Wasser has asked for a continuance on the custody case to give both parties more time to "conduct and complete their discovery." A decision on this request will be made in court on September 4.Labels: BRITNEY SPEARS, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KEVIN FEDERLINE
Kevin Federline is allegedly set to mock ex-wife Britney Spears with a role in hit US TV show 'One Tree Hill'. The 28-year-old - who is currently fighting the 'Toxic' singer for full custody of their two children, 23-month-old Sean Preston and 11-month-old Jayden James - will play a singer who tries to help a drug-addict mother win back her kids from social services. However, it is soon clear that while the mom loves her children she is not suitable to raise them, and sources claim this echoes his thoughts about Britney. A source said: "Kevin is fighting for sole custody of their sons, claiming Britney's wild lifestyle and bizarre antics make her an unfit mother. "And art will mirror life to his advantage in this TV role. The poor mom will be shown in a sympathetic light, but it will be clear why she is not allowed to care for her kids. Kevin will appear as the sexy knight in shining armour." Earlier this month, Kevin, who has two other children from a previous relationship, filed for primary custody of Sean and Jayden - just two weeks after his divorce from Britney was finalized. He is hoping he can show cause for being awarded primary physical custody following Britney's recent erratic behaviour. A source said: "Kevin is worried Britney is exposing the boys to unnecessary risk. His lawyer hopes to get Kevin primary custody."Labels: BRITNEY SPEARS, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KEVIN FEDERLINE
BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE’s brief marriage is officially over. The couple’s divorce was granted on Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Judge Scott Gordon signed the decree hours after Spears and Federline’s lawyers appeared in court to settle the ongoing divorce battle. Spears’ attorney Laura Wasser made a motion to keep the custody and child support provisions secret, on grounds that making it public would be harmful to the couple’s sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Judge Gordon granted that request, pending a hearing on 14 August. But TMZ.com claims the divorce settlement will net Federline $35,000 (GBP17,500)-a-month.Labels: BRITNEY SPEARS, DIVORCE, GOSSIP, GOSSIP JAMES EDSTROM, HOLLYWOOD, KEVIN FEDERLINE

Britney Spears has cut the asking price on the Malibu, Calif., mansion she shared with ex-husband Kevin Federline in an effort to make a quick sale. The seven-bedroom pop palace, which features a dance/workout room and a recording studio, hit the market earlier this year at $13.5 million, but Spears has now dropped the price to just under $12 million. Sources tell TMZ.com that Britney agreed to chop a million dollars off her original asking price because she's eager to settle her financial ties to Federline after finalizing her divorce from him last week. Reports suggest Spears and her ex will split the proceeds from the sale of the mansion. According to TMZ.com, there have been no offers on the house. Britney Spears reportedly told estranged husband Kevin Federline he was the"biggest mistake she ever made". Despite her cruel comment, Britney also allegedly gave Kevin one last chance to save their marriage, as they finalised their divorce settlement last month. A source told America's Star magazine: "Britney said, 'Do you really want to do this?' and Kevin said yes. Britney replied, 'You're the biggest mistake I've ever made, but thank you for my babies.' "It is also claimed Kevin, 29, led Britney, 25, to believe they would get back together after she left rehab to ensure she finished her treatment at Malibu's Promises centre. It has been reported Kevin will get $13 million in the divorce settlement. The couple's prenuptial agreement allegedly entitled him to $250,000 for every year they were married, but Britney is said to have upped the amount to $500,000 to speed up the negotiations. He will also receive half of the proceeds from the sale of their $13.5 million Malibu mansion and $25,000 a month in child support for the couple's two sons until they turn 18. Kevin will also reportedly get custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James for four days a week. Meanwhile, Britney is said to have found love with musician Howie Day, who she met at Promises. A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: "Britney has fallen hard for him."Britney just lights up and seems back to her old self when she talks to Howie or tells people about him. She thinks he's very talented - and says he's the best kisser ever!"The 'Toxic' singer is so smitten she is planning to take Howie to her cousin Erin's wedding in June. However, Britney's mother Lynne is less than pleased with her daughter's new love and thinks he will be a bad influence. The source added: "Lynne wants Britney to be with someone outside the music industry. Howie is always on the road and exposed to influences that are discouraged in rehab."Labels: BRITNEY SPEARS, DIVORCE, KEVIN FEDERLINE, STAR MAGAZINE
