Hollywood star Kirsten Dunst is slamming the media, accusing the press of constantly portraying famous women in a very negative light. Dunst is convinced that women in Hollywood are often treated more harshly by the media than their male counterparts. She tells Harper's Bazaar, "I don't buy the rag mags, but I was looking at the cover of one, and an actress' husband apparently had cheated on her. Who knows if it's true? But they don't put the guy on the cover, going, Look at what this guy did. They put the girl on the cover, going, Look at what he did to her. "That is the stuff that I have no tolerance for. Guys will go do this, that, and the other and they're cool, and girls will go out with their friends and do this and it's 'horrendous.' If a guy's flirting with me, I'm the slut. It can kill a girl's spirit."Labels: GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KIRSTEN DUNST
Hollywood star Kirsten Dunst's representatives are blasting accusations the actress split with sexy actor Jake Gyllenhaal because of her alleged substance abuse. The 25-year-old was reportedly admitted to Cirque Lodge after a week of partying at the Sundance Film Festival last month, but family sources close to the Spider Man star insist it was her wild ways that caused the couple’s relationship to end in 2005. A source tells Us Weekly magazine, "Jake was turned off by all the partying." A representative for Dunst has dismissed the split rumors as "downright wrong" and is adamant "she is not being treated for cocaine or any drug".Labels: GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KIRSTEN DUNST

'Spiderman 3' is rumored to be the most expensive movie ever made. According to reports, the film - which is based on the popular Marvel comic book series - cost more than $500 million to make. However, the sum has been much disputed with some Hollywood insiders struggling to accept that so much money was spent on it.'Spiderman 3' producer Laura Ziskin told the New York Post newspaper: "I refuse to say the real number because it makes me choke. 'Spiderman 3' was a super-expensive movie - the most expensive film we've ever made. But there 's no way you can get to $300 million." A Sony representative claims the film cost $270 million. One movie source is adamant the actual total was higher, with production costs alone reaching $350 million, while New York location shoots cost upwards of $1 million a day. Radar magazine reported the final bill for 'Spiderman 3', which stars Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire, was $500 million. The film - which is released next month - also contains ultra-expensive computer-generated special effects. It isn't unusual for Hollywood blockbusters to cost mega-bucks. 'Spiderman 2' reportedly cost $210 million, 'King Kong' $207 million and 'Titanic' $247 million.Labels: GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, KIRSTEN DUNST, NEWS, SPIDERMAN, TOBEY MAGUIRE
Kirsten Dunst almost quit acting after filming 'Spiderman 3'.The actress has revealed she became "sick" of acting and decided to take a break after filming the third super hero movie. Kirsten told Live magazine: "I was in a lot of pain while I was making 'Spiderman 3'. Afterwards, I was done with acting. I was so sick of giving myself to other people, because I had nothing in my life that was all mine."When I finished the film, I needed a very long break from movies. I couldn't look at a script, I didn't care about acting and I haven't worked since, because that's the thing that's been causing the most pain."Kirsten, 25, said a major cause of her depression was the poor response to 'Marie Antoinette', which was booed at the Cannes Film Festival. She said: "Cannes was difficult. I got there and it was like Miami had taken over the South of France. It was horrible even before a few people booed at one of the screenings."There were no more than six of them, but it was like they s**t on the film. I was so angry about the way people were talking about it and fed up with this business."The movie was personal to me. It felt like everyone was stamping on me."Labels: JAMES EDSTROM, KIRSTEN DUNST, SPIDERMAN
