The former actress is revealing that she is in talks to appear in a forthcoming film by Penn, but the couple's attempts to contact comedian Rogen have so far been ignored. She tells Nylon magazine, "I’m talking to a lot of people right now. One is Sean Penn - I spoke to him again the other day. LICKING LINDSAY LOHAN FACING LAWSUIT

Licking Lindsay Lohan is facing a lawsuit from three men who claim she hijacked a car and held them hostage last July. Ronnie Blake, Jakon Sutter and Dante Nigro accuse the star of commandeering the SUV they were passengers in, after a party in Malibu, California. She then drove off in the car and was stopped by police on the Pacific Coast Highway after running a red light.The officers arrested Lohan for driving under the influence. They also found cocaine on her possession. The incident resulted in a second DUI charge in just three months for the actress and led to an infamous 84-minute jail sentence. Papers filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court this week allege Lohan was intoxicated and "hostile" and "endangered" the mens' lives during the "joyride." She allegedly told them, "She was a celebrity ... she could do whatever she wants."But Lohan's lawyer Ed McPherson has dismissed the lawsuit, telling TMZ.com, "These guys had the night of their lives."

Former party girl Lindsay Lohan is blaming "work stress" for the substance abuse problems that landed her in rehab last year. The Hollywood actress, who spent last summer at a Utah rehabilitation center, also claims she used alcohol and drugs to escape from the emotional pain brought on by being estranged from her father Michael, who at the time was in jail. Lohan, who reunited with her dad in rehab, tells Paper magazine, "I had a lot going on in my life and that was a way of hiding from it. "I hadn't seen my dad. I had a lot of work stress because I was constantly working and never took time to stop."Everything was go-go-go, and the easiest thing was to run away from it, going out and drinking at night. You know, you don't have to think when you let go sometimes. "But I didn't realize it was getting in the way of my work, what I've worked for my whole life."

She tells Britain’s Glamour magazine, "There is so much written about me, there’s this cartoon caricature that has manifested itself that doesn’t exactly exist. "The biggest misconception is probably that I don’t have my head in the right place. That, and probably that I’m not a good person. That makes me sad, because actually I am."

BRITTANY MURPHY SET TO REPLACE LOHAN

Brittany Murphy is at the top of the list to replace troubled actress Lindsay Lohan in the new movie 'Poor Things', after the star dropped out to begin a famous stint in rehab. Lohan had been set to play the leading role in the comedy but was forced to quit when she was admitted to the Cirque Lodge in Utah last over the summer after two driving under the influence incidents landed her an 84-minute stint in jail. And now, according to the Hollywood Reporter, movie bosses are lining up Just Married actress Murphy to join the cast, which already includes Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum. The film, about two female con artists, will be directed by Scott Marshall, whose 2007 movie Blonde Ambition, starring Jessica Simpson, went straight to DVD after a limited cinema release saw the movie flop.

We once did it four times in a row. That was crazy. Lindsay was insatiable. "When you orgasm, your endorphins shoot up and it becomes a massive natural high. If you have an addictive personality like Lindsay you need that to replace the highs you got from taking drugs all the time. Sex became part of her recovery."

Lindsay Lohan tried to sell photographs of her family Thanksgiving dinner, it has been claimed. The 'Mean Girls' actress offered staged pictures of her with mother Dina, sister Ali, her brothers and boyfriend Riley Giles celebrating the holidays to several celebrity magazines. She initially demanded a six-figure sum, but eventually dropped the price to $20,000 when she failed to find a buyer. A source told MSNBC: "She thinks she's a huge star. She thinks everyone is dying to read about her, but she's lost her fan base. Her decisions are being driven by cash, not repairing her image." Lindsay, 21, reportedly failed to sell the pictures, but made some money from her family shopping trip to New York's Armani Exchange and Intermix store on November 23. It is claimed Lindsay tipped off the paparazzi she would be there and was paid to visit the clothing store. The source added: "It seems like everything Lindsay does is to make money." Last month, it was claimed the troubled star - who completed treatment in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction and served a prison sentence for DUI (driving under the influence) - is broke after blowing her $7 million fortune on drugs and partying. Meanwhile, Lindsay has reportedly dumped boyfriend Riley. Lindsay Lohan served just 84 minutes of her 24-hour jail sentence yesterday. The 'Mean Girls star handed herself in to Los Angeles County's Lynwood Jail at 10.30am to serve the remainder of her DUI (driving under the influence) sentence and was released at 11.54am. Nicole Richie served 82 minutes in the same prison for a DUI conviction in August, while earlier this year, Paris Hilton served 23 days at Lynwood for driving with a suspended licence. Lindsay was sentenced to the mandatory minimum of four days in jail after pleading no contest to two DUI charges. Prosecutors agreed to reduce this to just two days if she served 10 days of community service. The 21-year-old actress had already served one day after the authorities gave her credit for the time she spent in custody following her July arrest. Lindsay - who checked out of Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab centre on October 5 after a stay of over two months - was also placed on three years probation and must complete an 18-month alcohol education programme as part of her plea bargain. The 'Freaky Friday' star began her community at a Los Angeles American Red Cross blood services facility blood donor centre on Monday.

The troubled 'Mean Girls' star - who is currently in Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab clinic recovering from alcohol and drug addiction - plans to quit Hollywood to study psychology. A source told Fox News: "Despite what so many people think, Lindsay is an incredibly smart girl and always wanted to have that college experience. "She has looked into a few institutions on the east coast and will most likely major in something like psychology. At this stage, New York University is a hot favourite." Movie insiders claim her acting career may be in tatters regardless of her college plans. A high-profile Paramount producer revealed: "It will most likely take years of perfect behaviour before Lindsay will work again. "It will literally cost a network millions to insure her for a movie and as talented as she is, it is highly unlikely that studios will be quick to get her back on the set." Lindsay is currently enjoying a five-day trip in the Utah mountains with her father Michael as part of her rehab treatment. She has been allowed to take a cell phone and requested a DVD player for their mountain lodge. Lindsay was due to start shooting the movie 'Poor Things' opposite Hollywood beauty Rosario Dawson in mid-October. However, the project is said to have been delayed after Lindsay failed a drugs test and was forced to remain in rehab.

REHAB LINDSAY LOHAN PLEADS GUILTY

Lindsay Lohan will spend one day in jail after pleading guilty to taking drugs.The 'Mean Girls' star's legal team reached a plea bargain with Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers after an hour-long hearing the other day. Lindsay pleaded guilty to two charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance (cocaine) and pleaded no contest to two charges of DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol). She also pleaded no contest to one charge of reckless driving. This makes the 21-year-old actress a second offender - with two DUI convictions - which means she must serve a mandatory sentence of four days in jail. But the judge halved the prison sentence by ordering the actress to 10 days of community service. Lindsay was also given one day credit for time she already served when she was arrested. Lindsay had faced charges of DUI (driving under the influence), possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custody facility and driving on a suspended licence. The judge also sentenced the 'Georgia Rule' star to serve 36 months probation and attend an alcohol education program for 18 months. She was ordered not to use controlled substances and is required to enrol in a drug program. Lindsay is also required to stay at the Utah rehab facility, where she is currently being treated for drug and alcohol addiction, for an unspecified amount of time. The actress was ordered "not to associate with people with controlled substances." Lindsay must appear in court on January 18 to prove she has successfully completed her rehabilitation.

LINDSAY LOHAN WILL STILL TANGO

Lindsay Lohan's next film will go ahead despite her latest DUI (driving under the influence) arrest. The 21-year-old actress - who was charged with the offence and possession of cocaine last week, just days after she handed herself in for a separate DUI charge - is "still on board" to start shooting the Tango movie 'Dare to Love Me' in October. Producer Lucas Jarach insists that regardless of the "complications" the "production is not being altered in any kind of way". He added to People magazine: "It's happening. Everything's on schedule. We're just working out the conditions so she'll be able to make the film. "The shooting of the movie, the filming, is not scheduled to start until October 1. Lindsay is still on board. We stand behind her." The movie tells the story of Tango legend Carlos Gardel, whose romance with a prostitute came to an abrupt end when they were involved in a shooting which left her dead and him crippled with a bullet fragment in his lung for life. The film is set in Buenos Aires in the 20s and Italian actor Raoul Bova will play Gardel. Meanwhile, Lindsay's latest movie 'I Know Who Killed Me', in which she stars as a topless dancer, has been panned by critics. One scoffed: "This movie must be in the running for the worst movie of 2007." Another observed: "Lindsay now seems intent on destroying her career and credibility on her own terms."

LINDSAY LOHAN DENIES EVERYTHING

The 'Mean Girls' star checked into an undisclosed facility yesterday after she was arrested for DUI (driving under the influence) in Santa Monica following a police car chase. The 21-year-old has not returned to Malibu's Promises centre where she recently completed a 45-day program for alcoholism. Lindsay said of her latest arrest: "Yes. I am innocent... did not do drugs they're not mine. I was almost hit by my assistant Tarin's mom. I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy." The actress - who is already facing charges of DUI from an arrest in May - was yesterday charged with DUI, possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custody facility and driving on a suspended licence. Lindsay's mother Dina said: "I am sick over this. "We are doing everything in our power in support of Lindsay and I won't give up - this is my daughter and we love her. "Lindsay is in a safe place, and we are trying to strategically work out our next step." The 'I Know Who Killed Me' star was wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet at the time of her arrest. It regularly records the wearer's blood alcohol level from their sweat and transmits the results back to a central monitoring system, raising an alarm is alcohol is present. The alarm is also triggered if the bracelet is removed. Lindsay's lawyer, Blair Berk, insisted the actress is in the grip of a "terrible and vicious disease". Blair added in a statement: "Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. "Unfortunately, late Monday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old has revealed she would love to play Princess Diana in a movie about the late royal's life. Lindsay told In Touch Weekly magazine: "It would be fantastic to play her. She gave back a lot and was such an amazing woman."The actress is also planning to follow in the princess' footsteps by doing some charity work. She said: "I'm going to Japan soon with my friend Charlotte Ronson, who's a designer, and I'm researching some charity work that I can do and visit some orphanages."
