ELTON JOHN TO BUILD ART GALLERY

Sir Elton John is set to demolish part of his mansion and build a huge art gallery in its place. The flamboyant singer has an extensive art collection worth tens of millions of pounds which has now outgrown his homes in England, America and France. Elton has applied to his local council for permission to knock down a huge garage block at his UK Windsor mansion so he can replace it with a gallery to display his entire art collection. The council has informed the 'Rocket Man' singer his application is likely to be approved. Elton recently added to his collection of homes after buying a $2.6 million apartment in Los Angeles' exclusive Sierra Towers. The superstar's new two bedroom Sunset Boulevard property is thought to be on the building's 20th floor, and features amazing views all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

Britney Spears has cut the asking price on the Malibu, Calif., mansion she shared with ex-husband Kevin Federline in an effort to make a quick sale. The seven-bedroom pop palace, which features a dance/workout room and a recording studio, hit the market earlier this year at $13.5 million, but Spears has now dropped the price to just under $12 million. Sources tell TMZ.com that Britney agreed to chop a million dollars off her original asking price because she's eager to settle her financial ties to Federline after finalizing her divorce from him last week. Reports suggest Spears and her ex will split the proceeds from the sale of the mansion. According to TMZ.com, there have been no offers on the house.
