Sexy "Desperate Housewives" star Marcia Cross was in such a hurry to start a family after marrying Tom Mahoney, she insisted the couple skip their honeymoon to concentrate on her fertility treatment. The couple were married in 2006 and started trying for a baby right away using in vitro fertilization with the 45-year-old actress eventually giving birth to twin girls Savannah and Eden in February 2007. Cross insists she won't be repeating the experience, vowing to adopt rather than undergo any further medical treatment. She says, "We decided to skip our honeymoon and try in vitro after the wedding. I had already been through infertility treatments. It's very, very difficult to get pregnant in your 40s. It's costly and tough on your body and your relationship. I don't think I'll have any more kids, but I'm not 100 percent sure we won't adopt."And the Hollywood Television star admits she regrets becoming a mom so late. She adds, "I wish that I'd had my girls in my 30s. Then I could be around longer for them. But they're an incentive for me to stay healthy, take care of myself, and live as long as possible."

Marcia Cross was "terrified" when she discovered she was having twins. The 'Desperate Housewives' actress - who gave birth to twin daughters earlier this year - was shocked when an ultra sound scan revealed she was expecting two babies. Marcia told Hello magazine: "I was absolutely terrified! Now if course, it's just like I won the lottery because I have two daughters and it's really just fantastic."Eden and Savannah were born at a Los Angeles hospital on February 20.Marcia, 45, openly admitted she and her husband Tom Mahoney used IVF treatment to help them conceive. She added: "Many women delay motherhood these days. I feel very fortunate to have become a mother in my 40s. "That's why I don't want to put out any fantasy that you can just do that forever and then just pop out twins."Marcia - who married Tom last year - was put on bed rest a month before the birth as a precuationary measure, due to the strain of the extra weight she was carrying. The flame-haired actress continued to shoot scenes for 'Desperate Housewives' after producers set up cameras in her home and filmed there for two days.Labels: CELEBRITY COUPLES, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, GOSSIP, GOSSIP JAMES EDSTROM, MARCIA CROSS, TOM MAHONEY
