Hollywood star Mel Gibson's Saturday night dinner with toxic and mental Britney Spears wasn’t the first time the movie star has reached out to help the former singer, according to published reports. The weird couple was spotted entering and leaving Russian restaurant Romanov in Studio City, Los Angeles California within minutes of each other, and staff later confirmed they dined together for about two hours. Sources are coming forward with reasons behind the meeting, insisting Gibson has become a friend to the wild star, a former Malibu, California neighbor, meeting her many times since her hospitalization last month. One insider tells People.com, "Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible."There’s just a handful of people in the world who understand the kind of intense attention that Britney goes through, and how to raise a family with some semblance of privacy and how to keep one’s family intact and out of the limelight."Labels: BRITNEY SPEARS, GOSSIP, JAMES EDSTROM, MEL GIBSON
An independent panel of investigators who reviewed the way police handled Mel Gibson’s 2006 drink-driving arrest has concluded nobody tried to cover the incident up. The mean drunk was taken into custody in July 2006 in Malibu, California after he was caught speeding on the Pacific Coast Highway. Police initially told the world’s media the arrest went "without incident" but leaked details suggested Gibson had verbally abused arresting officer James Mee with anti-Semitic remarks, which made Jewish groups go after the Hollywood loser. Three employees at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have been disciplined for violating police policy in relation to Gibson’s arrest, but the Office Of Independent Review has concluded there was no deliberate cover-up. According to gossip website TMZ.com, the report reads: "Because of a concern about certain information gathered during the arrest falling prematurely into the hands of media sources and because there was no clear departmental guidance provided on how to handle this scenario presented, supervisors made spontaneous decisions with regard to how to package the information and describe the arrest. "While these decisions do no indicate a violation of department policy, and were fairly sensible, they do point out the need for creating a thoughtful and systematic approach for how to handle future similar scenarios."Labels: GOSSIP, GOSSIP JAMES EDSTROM, MEL GIBSON
Mel Gibson has sold his Malibu mansion for $30 million. The 'Braveheart' star made a profit of $6 million on the six bedroom beachfront property, having bought it for $24 million just two years ago. The luxury home features 10 bathrooms, a gym, a swimming pool, a wine cellar and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The sale, to an unnamed bidder, comes just weeks after Gibson sold his 28-room Connecticut mansion for $41 million. The actor's property portfolio still includes a California mansion, a ranch in Australia and a house in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Gibson purchased Mago Island, a private island near Fiji, from Japan's Tokyu Corporation for an estimated $17 million in December 2004. The 'Passion of the Christ' director has been married to nurse Robyn Moore for 27 years. They have seven children together - six sons and one daughter. Hannah was born in 1980, twins Edward and Christian were born in 1982, Willie in 1985, Louis in 1988, Milo in 1990, while Tommy entered the world in 1999.Labels: GOSSIP, GOSSIP JAMES EDSTROM, HOLLYWOOD, MEL GIBSON
