NOEL GALLAGHER HAS LITTLE BABY OASIS

Noel Gallagher insists his newborn son will become a "legend". The Oasis guitarist - whose partner Sara MacDonald gave birth to their first child together, Donovan Rory Gallagher, on Saturday - already has high hopes for the three-day-old tot. He sent friends and family a text message to announce the birth, which read: "He shall go by the name of Donovan Rory MacDonald Gallagher and he will be a legend. Give thanks and praise." Donovan - who was delivered naturally after a seven-hour labor - weighed 7lb 5oz and both mother and baby are said to be doing well. Noel - who already has a seven-year-old daughter, Anais, with ex-wife Meg Matthews - recently said he wanted to call his new child Goliath or Ghandi, as he wanted his baby to have an alliterating name. The 'Don't Look Back In Anger' singer quipped: "I'm keen on Gandhi or Goliath. Just imagine it, Gandhi Gallagher! I like anything that begins with a G really. But whatever name we choose it's going to be legendary." Noel and PR Sara have been dating for around seven years. Noel's brother and Oasis bandmate Liam has three children, son Gene with his fiancée Nicole Appleton, son Lennon with his ex-wife Patsy Kensit and daughter Molly, who was conceived after Liam had a brief fling with singer Lisa Moorish in 1998.

'OASIS' NOEL GALLAGHER TO GO SOLO

Noel Gallagher is planning to release a solo album. The rocker is ready to take time out from Oasis and make an LP on his own and already has a number of songs ready to record. He said in an interview with NME magazine: "I've got a backlog of songs that are slowly building up. I've got about four or five songs which are probably too far in the past as far as the band is concerned, but which could work on my record. I don't know for sure but it looks like its coming." Noel, 39, thinks now would be the perfect time to start work on the album while Oasis are taking a break. He explained: "The thing about a solo record is that the time to do one is between Oasis world tours because I'd have a couple of years. But it takes me so long to write the songs I eventually run out of time before Oasis begins again." Although the 'Don't Look Back In Anger' singer is ready to make a solo record, he isn't sure if he wants to do a solo tour. Noel - who recently played two semi-acoustic charity shows accompanied by Oasis guitarist Gem Archer and percussionist Terry Kirkbride at London's Royal Albert Hall - said: "The thing that always stops me from doing it is going on the road, standing up and fronting a band. I don't mind sitting down on a chair on my own with a couple of friends playing with me, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about charging people to come and see me play my songs every night with me up front."
