Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson is joining forces with animal rights campaigners in a bid to free apes kept in "squalid’ captivity in the state of Florida. Anderson has written an open letter to Florida governor Charlie Crist, targeting ‘road-side zoos’ in the state, where she claims chimpanzees and other animals are kept in inadequate enclosures. The famous star warns a tragic accident, like the chimpanzee attack in Connecticut in February, that left a woman maimed, is just waiting to happen. Anderson, who is a regular supporter for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - writes, "With so many frustrated great apes stewing in squalid facilities in Florida, it is only a matter of time before a similar tragedy strikes your state. PETA and I appeal to you to take action to prevent Florida’s roadside zoos from keeping great apes and to ensure that these intelligent primates are transferred to approved sanctuaries to live out the remainder of their lives in suitable surroundings." Sexy Pamela, is heading to Florida to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida.

All around star Pamela Anderson has helped animal activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) win a major battle in their war against chicken cruelty. Bosses at fast food chain KFC in Canada have agreed to improve living and dying conditions for chickens they farm and to add a vegetarian faux chicken to their menu after receiving letters of concern from the former Baywatch actress. Anderson, a longtime PETA fan, has been writing letters to KFC executives for years, urging them to review their farming policies. The television actress, who was born and brought up in Canada, is now targeting KFC bosses in Britain. She has just penned a letter to Martin Shuker, the Managing Director of KFC GB Ltd., asking him follow the lead set by Canada’s fast food kings. Anderson writes, "Chickens are bred to grow so quickly they can barely walk and they stew in their own waste for their entire lives. This is Colonel Sanders’ real ’secret recipe.’ "At slaughter, these poor animals are still conscious when they are snapped into metal shackles, often with broken legs. They are shocked in an electrified water bath and many are still fully conscious when their necks are sliced open. Some are even burned to death in the scalding tank for feather removal. "Until I hear from PETA that you will be agreeing to make changes similar to those agreed to by KFC Canada - and recommended by KFC’s own animal welfare advisers - I will be boycotting KFC."

If he has nothing nice to say about me, then please tell him to stop talking about me." The mother-of-two also commented on rumors she is pregnant with new fiancé Rick Salomon's baby. She said: "Not pregnant. Just very happy. Started ozone therapy. Healthy as can be. Very exciting."

The former 'Baywatch' actress, who was horrified when Tommy Lee and Kid Rock came to blows at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9, says the incident has "stressed her out". Pammie wrote on her website: "I left the VMAs early. I went out to say hello to friends and I was in bed early - I was stressed out because of my ex-husbands behaviour." The scuffle took place after Lee reportedly muttered something to Rock as he walked past his table at the awards ceremony in Las Vegas' Pearl Theatre at the Palms Casino Resort. Pammie was rumored to be the reason for the disagreement, but she insisted she didn't want to get involved in the feud. She said: "I'm staying out of it. I actually left before the fight. As soon as I left, meow! They went after each other." Lee and Rock have been offered $5 million to settle their row in a winner takes all boxing match. Las Vegas nightclub boss owner Jeff Beacher, who originally offered the pair $1 million to fight, has now upped the stakes in the hope of luring them into the ring. He said: "We all know that they are fighting over Pam Anderson. What better way to settle their differences then to slug it out in the ring!"
