CHRIS BROWN TAKES TO THE INTERNET

Troubled Chris Brown took to the World Wide Web yesterday to thank his fans for their support. This was on the same day he was arraigned in court on alleged assault charges. The singer appeared briefly in Los Angeles California court on Thursday to face two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats in relation to his February 8th altercation with girlfriend Rihanna.
He and his attorney Mark Geragos were granted a continuance to April 9th, when Brown will hear if he faces jail time for the alleged beating . Brown did find time in his day to post a message on his MySpace.com page, urging fans to vote for him in the upcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, in which he is nominated for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for Kiss Kiss.
He wrote, "Hey fans, Vote for Chris on the Kids Choice Awards 2009 link provided below… Thank you for your support." The Kids’ Choice Awards take place on March 28th.

RIHANNA TO COME OUT WITH CLOTHING LINE

Pop singing star Rihanna is going to follow in the footsteps of Gwen Stefani and is launching her own clothing line. Rihanna who is a frequent front row guest at the runway shows, has confirmed she is working on her own designs.The singer has already dabbled in the accessories industry, she put her name on a range of umbrellas earlier this year to coincide with her international hit "Umbrella." She tells fashion publication WWD, "I can't say when it will be released, but it's definitely going to happen. I'm not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time."Earlier this year, Rihanna hinted she was considering starting a fashion line, saying, "There might be a clothing line on the horizon, maybe underwear."The star has also previously teamed up with retail chain H&M to design a range of casual wear as part of the Fashion Against Aids campaign.

RIHANNA LOVES HER DIFFERENT HAIRDO

Rihanna is crediting her different shorter hairdo with distinguishing her from other pop singers, and for allowing her to discover herself. The talented Rihanna rebelled against her record label’s wishes last year when she cut her long locks into an edgy pixie cut to coincide with the release of her album Good Girl Gone Bad. And the pop star insists the change in style helped her establish her independence.She says, "I felt like the whole world had long, curly, flowy blonde hair. Ciara, Beyonce, Mariah, Christina Milian. Everybody wanted to be like everybody else. So I cut my hair and they (Def Jam) made me put my long hair back in (as extensions)."The second time, I didn’t have any discussions, nothing. I just cut it, I dyed it black, I went into the studio making music my way. I found myself all at once. I like things strong, edgy, a little to the left. I don’t like things that are expected - nothing cliched."

RIHANNA LOVES PLAYING FUN PRANKS

Rihanna loves playing pranks on her friends. The 'Umbrella' singer is so obsessed with tricking her pals she has to play a joke every hour. Rihanna said: "I really like playing pranks on people. I do that a lot. Every day is a new one. Actually, every hour! It's almost second nature to me. "I play pranks on people, trick them, tell lies and push them in the waterfall! It's a way of adding fun to my job and my life." The 19-year-old star also said she is fulfilling the title of her first album, 'Good Girl Gone Bad'. She added to FHM magazine: "Let's just say I want to do things my way. I can be stubborn. If someone wants to force me to do something, I'll end up doing the exact opposite. "I have to be myself. If I want to be sexy, I mustn't restrict myself. I want to be young, fun and sexy."

Rihanna says mentor Jay-Z is teaching her how to cope with fame. The singer, who has been catapulted to superstardom after the phenomenal success of her worldwide hit 'Umbrella', has no intention of becoming a diva, and is being schooled on the pitfalls of celebrity by the hip-hop mogul. Speaking at the MOBO Awards nominations party at London club Movida last night, she said: "He's just told me to keep good people around me, stay humble, keep grounded and don't get carried away by everything around me." Rihanna - who was nominated for two awards, Best Video, for 'Umbrella', and Best International Act - also quashed speculation she and Jay-Z's lover Beyoncé Knowles are feuding. The 19-year-old singer insists the pair get on fine, despite constant reports claiming Beyoncé is jealous of Rihanna's success and the amount of time she spent working on her latest album, 'Good Girl Gone Bad', with the rapper. Rihanna - who was signed by Jay-Z to Def Jam Records - said: "Beyoncé is not the enemy. She is the competition but we get on fine. We're great." The 12th MOBO Awards - which celebrate music of black origin - take place on September 19 at London's O2 Arena. They will be hosted by Shaggy and Jamelia.
