How to Get Squid Ink in Stardew Valley

stardew valley squid

Squid ink is a useful resource if you plan to make or dye clothes in Stardew Valley. Both methods call for thinking outside the box.

A great method to acquire this useful resource is to visit the mines and find them off Squid Kids. Squid Kids look like little pink heads with a human face, and they usually shoot fireballs. Don’t let fire alarm you because they are fragile. A shot or two from a weapon should bring them down.

However, there is a chance that Squid Ink will drop from there. You won’t always get it, and you can only find Squid Kids beyond level 80 of mine, so it takes a long time to get there. The alternative method is to catch the squid while fishing.

You can fish for the squish on the docks near the Willy Shop during the winter season. You have to do this at night, however. Wait until it’s a little past 7pm in the game and start fishing them at that time. After you finally get one, you don’t want to get rid of it. Instead, you want to dump it in a fish pond.

Alternatively, you have a chance to locate a squid by rummaging around the garbage cans of Stardew Valley residents. You can use this alternative if you want to find a squid outside of the winter months.

Just as you can acquire fish eggs or a caviar farm with a sturgeon, you can grow squid ink with a squid in a fish pond. Every few days he leaves some of it available for you to harvest, making it a great option for one on your farm.
