How to get the Honeyback Harvester bumblebee mount in World of Warcraft

Riding a giant bumblebee might not have been on your to-do list, but Blizzard has plenty of ways to surprise you. The Honeyback Harvester Bumblebee mount is available to Alliance players (sorry, the Horde has no luck on this one), but you’re going to have to work for this one.

To get started, you will need to earn Bumbles as a pet. There are many requirements to get to this point, so buckle up. First, you need to start and complete the Mildenhall Meadery quest path, which begins in the upper deck in Stormsong Valley. You can hover over the map to find the correct “!” Leading up to Mayhem at Mildenhall Meadery, and the story will end with Back to the Lab! Once that’s finished, you need to start farming an item called Annealed Honey Amulet. It’s a rare drop of buzzing bees, rabid swarms, bees, flowing honeys, and bubbling meads – we’re talking about less than 1% of each. Make yourself comfortable and create a playlist if you need to.

The name “Rosaline Mildenhall” on the amulet refers to the next NPC you need to find. It’s in four possible locations in the city of Bolarus: Scribes and Nobles, Goldman’s Cafe, an unnamed store on the southern outskirts of town (72.4, 73.3), or an “inaccessible building” at 58.1, 66.3; if she ends up in the latter location, you will have to choose “Interact with the target” and speak to her through the walls. She will give you the letter from Rosaline, which you can take to Ancel Mildenhall, back in the area where you worked on the question line. You will then complete a quest titled Bumbles the Bee, and you will need to complete the Let’s Bee Friends daily once per day for seven days before unlocking the Let’s Bee Friends achievement and the Bumbles pet.

Okay, now you are ready to get the mount.

With Bumbles in your collection of pets, talk to Barry the Beekeeper at 69.2, 26.8. You will need to follow the pheromones to a beehive at 63.0, 26.6. Take some of the Thin Jelly, bring it to the Honeyback Hivemother, then talk to Barry again. You can now start earning reputation with the Honeyback Hive, and the best way to do that is to collect more Thin Jellies and kill the rare Honey Smasher elite that spawns at the north end of the Hive. Keep turning them into Barry until you earn your own Honeyback Harvester, and be sure to fly it all over the place to prove how hard you’ve worked for this mount.
